are proud to announce the greatly anticipated release of I Am Art, the
debut album (CD) by House of Aviance member EJ Aviance.
The
I Am Art CD includes a dozen tracks of the best House beats that you
will hear anywhere! DJ/Producer Coqui has produced a beat lovers gem
from beginning to end.
His sampling style and mixing ability have created a fresh and exciting
sound layered with fun, catchy, lyrical vocals by EJ Aviance.
DJ Jerome Farley of Sound Factory and C&C Music Factory says, "This
expertly constructed set of tracks comprises the first notable dance
album of 2013. In pure Aviance style, grace and musical excellence, this
collection represents a milestone in Electronic Dance Music. I too am
indebted to the House of Aviance for my first successful forays into
club music, as DJ and label manager, and once again Mother Juan Aviance
has tapped and developed an artist and producer with a very bright

This
CD is a musical journey that incorporates samples from such legends as:
Cajmere, First Choice, Robbie Tronco, School House Rock (ABC), Outer
Mind, Ethyl Meatplow, Soft House Company, Patrick Cowley, Veronica, The
La Mambo Combo - El Robo, Black Evita - Yo Mira & D.O.P. Dajae and
many, many more! These artists, music producers, singers and songwriters
alike have helped pave the way with their musical styles which have
influenced Coqui, Biff, and EJ to create the music “Art” that is in this
CD. EJ states, “These musical influences were so powerful I could not
move forward as an artist, performer or songwriter without starting
right here with the pioneers of the past! My hat’s off to all the musical talents and artistic influences instrumental to this project”
EJ Aviance is a seasoned performance artist Born in Charlottesville, Virginia. After
leaving Virginia and moving to Washington, DC in 1991, he was
introduced to the legendary House of Aviance and his journey started. He
is an active performer and has appeared in many venues nationwide,
including the recent seven-city Manhunt “Dirty” Tour as Host and MC. His
influences range widely, but he has been especially impacted by the
genius vision of Mother Juan Aviance as well as through Dance Music
legend Kevin Aviance who set the framework and raised the bar!
The
I AM ART CD project is unique in that it is entirely produced from
within the House of Aviance, from the CD cover art, mastering,
fundraising and the video promo ads. It is the latest chapter in the storied history of the House and its performers.
House
of Aviance is based in NYC but has members across the U.S. and abroad.
The House possesses many talents and vocations, from dancers to
schoolteachers and everything in between. Founded
in Washington DC 1989 and led by Mother Juan Aviance, the House has
been a force to be reckoned with for two decades. Members include but
not limited to: DJ's, Drag-Queens, singers, dancers, actors, visual
artists, performance artists, set designers, promoters, poets, writers,
teachers and producers... "You name it we’ve got it”
